The Eight Components of Magic
Magic is everywhere and it has rules to both understand and channel it.
The most basic understanding of Magic are the Eight Components.

The first Six Magic Components are: Lightning, Fire, Earth, Ice, Water, Wind.
The spark of Lightning ignites when it strikes, and thus Fire is born.
The heat of Fire renders to ash all that it touches, and thus Earth is born
The density of Earth shuns Sun and harbors cold, and thus Ice is born.
The armor of Ice melts away, and thus Water is born.
The moistness of Water mists and rises, and thus WInd is born.
The gusts and sighs of Wind gather the clouds, and thus Lightning is born.
The remaining two components are Umbral and Astral, better known as Dark/Passive and Light/Active. The other six components naturally gravitate toward one, however can be made the opposite as desired.
Prefers Umbral - Lightning, Earth, Water
Prefers Astral - Fire, Ice, Wind.
All worlds contain the fundamental components of Magic allowing its free usage throughout. However, more often than not a world will have one component as its favor if not predominate overall.
The world of Frozen for example would be predominantly Ice. Therefore the best magic type to use in that area would be Fire.
Earth grounds Lightning
Lightning boils Water
Water erodes Earth
Fire is extinguished by Wind
Wind is obstructed by Ice
Ice is melted by Fire
